Hinsdale, Illinois – February 13, 2025 – Baumert Law is pleased to announce a significant victory in a complex international divorce case. The Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois, granted the client’s Motion to Strike and Dismiss for Lack of Personal and Subject Matter Jurisdiction, as well as his Motion to Vacate the Order Enrolling Foreign Judgment.
The case involved a foreign divorce judgment obtained in Poland, which the Petitioner sought to enroll and enforce in Illinois. Baumert Law successfully argued that the Illinois court lacked jurisdiction, and that the venue was improper.
